Agnes Scott sits on 100 acres and is shaded by some of the oldest trees in the state. Our hometown is Decatur, six miles from downtown Atlanta. Agnes Scott College is named after Agnes Irene Scott, an Irish immigrant to the United States, for her integrity and intellectual curiosity. His son, Col. Atlanta is known for being home to a large number of colleges. Although Agnes Scott students receive individual attention on our campus, they also have access to cross-registration and community programs with our affiliated Atlanta and Georgia colleges such as Emory University, Georgia Tech and Georgia State.
