Raqmahsu is the UAE’s first comprehensive health science university, sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Sakir Qasmi, the ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and a member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates, who is also the university’s chancellor. With a steady pursuit of greatness, Rakim HSU is moving forward with its vision, mission, goals and objectives. Now, Raqmahso’s government is fully owned and managed by Ras Al Khaimah. In addition, all programs have been fully approved by the Commission for Academic Accreditation under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.#
With a humble start with 22 students, Raqmahso has made significant progress, including 1,300 students from 48 different nationalities. Similarly, Raqam HSU is proud to have 109 teaching faculty, 113 adjunct faculty and 96 non-teaching staff from 26 different countries. In fact, Raqmahsu Yu has become a model of harmony and cooperation between students and teachers of different nationalities and religions who are working with commitment to their professional careers. The continued significant contribution of our committed teachers has greatly helped RAKMHSU in improving the quality of education. Raqmahso is proud to maintain a 7: 1 student-teacher ratio, which is more than an ideal situation.
One of the happiest moments for RAK MHSU was the first convocation of 2010, which saw 19 medical and 48 nursing students receive their degrees at the hands of His Majesty Sheikh Saud bin Sakir Al-Qasimi. It is also a matter of pride for Raqmahso to be able to be the first in the UAE to start a two-year Masters program in Nursing and Pharmacy. Now, in addition to Adult Health Nursing (MSN) in MS in Clinical Pharmacy, we have MS in Pediatric Nursing, MS in Community Health Nursing, MS in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, MS in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics There are MS. And Pharm.D, program after proper approval. Immediately after graduating our nursing and pharmacy graduates. It is a pleasure to see placements in various hospitals and industries. It is also gratifying that our students have not only performed well in some of the external aptitude tests, but also in both the Dubai Healthcare and Abu Dhabi (HAAD) Health Health Examinations. Is.
Raqmahso is improving teaching-learning, including clinical teaching. It is noteworthy that more than 40 of our students are recipients of Merit Scholarships for Excellence from the Mir Soccer Foundation or through Government and NGOs. In addition, most of our students participate in various conferences, both inside and outside the RAK MHSU, in which they receive numerous awards, including sports awards.
Looking at the progress made over the last 9 years, Raqmahso focused on the level of student satisfaction. It is gratifying to see that in the IRO opinion-based rankings from 5 to 2.5, from 5 to 4.51 out of 5, various services such as educational counseling, admissions, examinations, student services, finance and HR, IT facilities, library and other services.
With the implementation of the university management system, the work of the university has been made easier, faster and more efficient. There is nothing more gratifying for a university when we know that our students, who are end users, not only understand the facilities available but also use them properly. In this regard, I really appreciate the efforts of the Institutional Research Office (IRO), which is working very hard to collect and analyze the data of the four offices of the University and the four Constituency Colleges. ۔
Thanks to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between RAK MHSU and the Ministry of Health (MOH), through which our students have undergone clinical care at Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah Hospital, both Sheikh Sakir and Obaidullah Hospitals. Learned from experience. The 140-bed Geriatric Hospital has increased the comprehensiveness of medical education. In addition, the addition of 10 core clinical faculty has strengthened clinical teaching for medical students. In addition, the Ministry of Health sponsors the nursing program for both UAE citizens, undergraduates and masters.
As far as dental care is concerned, RAK’s College of Dental Sciences offers a free patient service, which has become a huge benefit not only to the people of Ras Al Khaimah but to the entire UAE. To further expand electoral and clinical training facilities in other areas, RAK MHSU has a Memorandum of Understanding with national and international institutions and hospitals, such as Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital, Ras Al Khaimah. Raqmahso is fortunate to have physical and infrastructure coordination facilities such as classrooms, multi-purpose laboratories and clinical skills laboratories, which are important for the faculty to achieve the goals and objectives of each curriculum of different programs. The University recognizes the management of the facility in the design of these facilities along with the highly commendable work and record facility done by the Office of Finance and Administration. Construction of two additional buildings to meet the needs of both the nursing and pharmacy colleges with the sports complex has already begun, and is expected to be completed in February 2016. In addition, RA’s College of Dental Sciences has a state-of-the-art building with all its state-of-the-art dental facilities.
Our state-of-the-art library has become one of the best in the UAE with more than 21,305 textbooks and 9,484 online journals (ProQuest and CINAHL) in addition to computer, internet and Wi-Fi facilities. Students and faculty, including the Adjacent Clinical Faculty, also have access to these facilities off-campus and through two satellite libraries. Microdex, a drug database, specializes in Clinical Pharmacy Department and its Masters students. In addition to the Central Library, RAK MHSU has satellite libraries at RAAC College of Dental Sciences and all teaching hospitals of the Ministry of Health.
The Center for Education Development and Research (CEDAR) continued its efforts by conducting a number of important workshops, the main purpose of which was to assist teachers in acquiring the necessary teaching, learning and assessment skills. The Office of Examinations continues to improve after the Office of Examinations and its organization. Numerous books on MCQ were purchased in each course to help the faculty come up with better quality questions. In addition, several examination processes have been streamlined. Voting committees for both MCQ and PBL are working hard to improve the quality of both, in addition to uniform implementation in all colleges. The office is conducting examinations in a highly organized manner for more than 130 courses in each semester in four organized constituencies. The complex hard work of our students has resulted in an overall success rate of over 95% with over 26% achieving excellent or outstanding grades. Beginning in 2010, the university has developed a system of academic honors for outstanding students.
In addition to the UAE National Day celebrations, the Raqmahsu Cultural Day and the Student Science Conference were some of the highlights of the student activities each year. It is gratifying to note the high level of student participation in both oral and poster presentations at the conference. In addition to academic achievements, our students have mastered a number of extracurricular and extracurricular activities, including sports activities inside and outside the RAK MHSU, which is a university honor. The Office of Student Affairs should be commended for initiating all activities and arranging for high level student participation.
